I Love Movies
I consider myself a huge movie buff. Not only do I love movies, but I also possess a unique ability to break movies down like few can. Being as observant as I am before undoubtedly fucking up some of that with edibles, I would often notice plot holes or continuity errors that no one around me noticed before I pointed them out. And I love doing it because I'm so into movies

I was always known as the "only you" guy in my circle. As in, 'only you would notice that Spiritt'. And whenever it was said it was said like I did something wrong. I would later figure out those people in my family were just jealous they couldn't do it. My mother - who was easily the dumbest of us all - would get irritated with me and snap that I'm reading too much into the movie

But this is also the same woman who went through great pains to keep her control over me for as long as she could. And she's a hard-core believer in god. What the FUCK does that bitch know? Anything that showed me having intelligence was enemy of the state and ultimately deemed a massive threat to her sinister plan. So of course she was going to do all she could to prevent me from thinking

Now that I been done peeped that manipulative bitch's game and got the fuck away from her, I'm free to share my observations with all of you. And here's a hint. If you plan on following my stand-up career, I recommend following this page and its sub-pages closely, as movie shit makes up a lot of my material on stage

I also have quite the movie collection. It started back with DVD's and really increased with Blu Ray. Right around the release of Blu Ray was when digital libraries were first introduced. For about a solid three-year stretch (maybe even longer), whenever I would search for new movies on blu ray, I would always add the words '+ digital copy' to my search. I was only interested in buying DVD's that also came with the digital copy. And some of them would include the blu ray, the standard dvd and a digital copy. That's why when I bought Inception when it dropped on DVD, I made sure to pre-order the version with the digital copy, which as it turns out is now the only version I watch of any movie I own
Somewhere among this site's massive ass amount of content, I listed the movies I own but haven't watched yet. Here, I'll list the movies I own (digitally) that I have watched
AI: Artificial Intelligence - I have no idea why, but I have honestly always loved this movie. Nah actually I know why. It was the first time I learned I can actually relate to a robot

About Last Night - This remake of the 80's flick is my favorite Kevin Hart movie, actually it's the only Kevin Hart movie I like, and I always love Regina Hall in whatever she's in

Analyze This is actually a classic to me. Analyze That, not so much

Antwone Fisher - Yoo what the fuck ever happened to Derek Luke? I know sometimes actors fall off and we stop seeing them in movies, but we'll still see them at Wingstop or some shit. This nigga seems to have fallen off the face of the Earf. His foster mother in the movie reminds me a lot of my own mother. Muthafucking bitches

I got the whole trilogy for $15

I really feel like the fourth one should have been named 4 Life and Ride or Die should have been the third one. That's a real missed opportunity right there

I am alone in my critique of this film franchise, but I will maintain that while I enjoyed the whole trilogy, Batman Begins was a FAR better movie than The Dark Knight!! I SAID IT!!

I only recently bought 3 to finish the collection, and that's only bcuz it was $5. I will probably never watch that movie again

The Big Boss - My favorite Bruce Lee movie although I like them all

Bird - This is the biopic film by Clint Eastwood, starring Forest Whitaker as Charlie Parker. Uh, I didn't finish it. I bought it for $5 figuring that combo should be worth at least that much, but I found myself bored af. And I don't like biopics anyway, so I'll just look for documentaries and/or books written about him instead

It's been a while since I've seen them, but I bought the trilogy for like $12

Blue Beetle - Much better than it was given credit for

The Bodyguard - This movie was hated by the masses but not by me. No, it's not perfect. So!!

Boomerang - Eddie Murphy classic with a helluva supporting cast

Brewster's Millions - Probably my second favorite Richard Pryor movie behind Bustin Loose

Bumblebee (the Transformers spinoff)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
Transformers: Age of Extinction
Rise of the Beasts was okay. It wasn't out yet when I bought this set with all of these movies for $15. Rise of the Beasts was also the first of the series I saw in the theater, and I have since bought it for $5 to finish the collection as of this point

I thoroughly loved the first cars, and I liked the third. But the second one is one of the absolute worst fucking sequels I have ever seen in my life. Making Mater and Lightning secret agents? Who the fuck came up with that stupid shit?!

Catch Me If You Can - One of my top 10 favorite movies. I know it's a biopic but fuck that part of it. I didn't believe a word in it as truth and that allowed me to see it for the extremely fucking entertaining flick that it is

Changing Lanes - This was a pretty good hidden jewel from like 20+ years ago. Check it out if you haven't

My second favorite horror series behind the Purge, although take that with a grain of salt as I'm not into horror movies very much. I always found the Chucky movies funnier than scary

Cinderella - Like with several Barbie cartoons and an Alvin & the Chipmunks movie, this was from when my daughter was still in my life. But, hey, Cinderella is a classic
Cliffhanger - This one had the potential to be a great movie but had to settle on being just aight. Some of the dialogue is too cheesy to ignore, and it really could have benefitted from non-existent at that time 4K for the snowy backdrop. I enjoyed John Lithgow as the villain after I had watched him so many times as the preacher in Footloose (though he was kinda the villain in that too...oh whatever, just watch the goddamn movie)

Coach Carter - This movie had me at basketball

Collateral - The Tom Cruise / Jamie Foxx film that also featured a young hulk, Mark Ruffalo. And it earned J Foxx an oscar nom. This thriller that takes place in my hometown still holds up

Coming to America - Coming 2 America was aight. It definitely wasn't its predecessor, but I still found it somewhat entertaining. The funniest character in the movie to me was Leslie Jones

Commando - I remember watching this movie on repeat when I would go to my dad's house when I was a kid. It featured a young Alyssa Milano and always resonated with me for whatever reason. I watched it again for the first time in decades after buying it for $5, and nah, it doesn't really hold up. Not a classic but it's still entertaining

Cool Runnings - Depending on the way I take into the office on the days I go, I sometimes still pass by the Eagle Rock Plaza off the 2 Freeway. That is where my mother would take me to let me practice driving, and where she, my sister and I all watched this movie. Sure, the Jamaican accents are FUCKING TERRIBLE! But still, this movie has a lot of entertainment and heart. If it's not in my top 10 it's damn near

Crash - Haven't watched this one in a while. I remember it controversially winning Best Picture. I thought it was good but couldn't have loved it that much since it's been prolly a good 20 years since I've seen it

I didn't really understand why Stallone was nominated for best supporting actor for the first one, but I liked where they took it. Rocky IV, when Adonis' daddy bucks the kicket at the hands of Ivan Drago, is my favorite of the series. Oh, and in the second one Adonis fights Drago's son to avenge his father. So I really enjoyed this spin-off. And what's haaaaappenin' Tessa Tess? How you doin with cho fine ass? And it has Phylicia Rashad, who don't do whack movies and tv shows. And before his fall from grace, Jonathan Majors had become one of my favorites (don't miss The Harder They Fall on Netflix if you've never seen it!), so it was cool to see him in the third one

Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
War for the Planet of the Apes
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
I honestly didn't expect to enjoy Rise as much as I did. It was actually the first Apes movie I'd ever seen (I've since bought the original from the 60's but have yet to watch it). I think I watched all three of the first movies in one day. Then Kingdom was scheduled to come out nearly a year later. That one picks up hundreds of years after War, so it had a new everything. But I still enjoyed it very much. And Kingdom is the first Planet of the Apes film I saw in the theater

The Day After Tomorrow (and might as well group this one with...)
War of the Worlds (finally bought the original too but haven't watched it yet)
Kong: Skull Island (I LOVED this one)
Daylight (one of my favorites of this genre)
I.S.S. (you have to watch the movie to see why I included this one here)
Soooo, yeah, disaster flicks are a true guilty pleasure of mine

Demolition Man - Probably my favorite Stallone flick. Yes, over any of the Rocky films

Despicable Me - I like the Despicable series though probably not enough to own them. This is another one I bought for my daughter, which is why I don't have any of the others, and haven't even seen the fourth one

The Devil Wears Prada - I bought this one because it was $5 and so highly rated. I'd heard about it but hadn't watched it. When I did, I was underwhelmed. I guess with all I'd heard about it, I was expecting more. Maybe too much

Die Hard 2: Die Harder smh lol
Of course the first three are classics (my personal favorite is DH2). But nobody asked for the last two. It really felt like it piqued with Vengeance. But I bought the whole set for $20 so I'm stuck with em lol. And with Bruce Willis retired from acting due to dementia, maybe when I next watch the last two films of the series with a different mentality, I may like them more. Maybe!

Dirty Dancing - Nobody puts baby (or this soundtrack) in the corner

Django Unchained - Where I first saw one Christoph Waltz (where he earned a best supporting actor Oscar win), the first maybe 40 minutes of this movie is among some of the best in cinema in my opinion. But then it starts to lose me and completely lost me during that final shoot-out. All I could do was shake my head

Do The Right Thing - Come on man. This is a bonafide classic. 'Nuff said

Double Take - One of my favorite guilty pleasure films. Duuuude, parts of this film are legit terrible. But I love it. Imperfections and all. I see what they were trying to do. I kept an eye on this one in the digital store too but it's price never went down. I was forced to pay the full $17.99. Not ideal but I didn't mind. Especially since I've gotten so many great deals on other shit

Drive - This is another movie I hadn't even heard of but bought it because it was $5. I didn't like it much and have never watched it since

Driving Miss Daisy - Along with Lean on Me, this was one of the first movies I ever saw Morgan Freeman in. The part that fucked up my little 10-year-old mind, was that those two movies came out about a year apart. Wai wai wai, you're telling me THAT'S THE SAME GUY causing havoc in the high school, as who had to drive Ms Daisy's ole stubborn ass around? Morgan Freeman has been a favorite of mine since. And Driving Miss Daisy is a straight-up classic

Drumline - I love Drumline and would quote it often on my podcast

I didn't see the first one when it came out in the theater. But I heard a lot about it. So when I saw it on sale for $5 I pulled the trigger. Plus the sequel was coming out in about a month or so at the time. I watched and I marginally enjoyed it. It was different and I did like that. But I found it kinda slow. I went to the theater and watched the second one in Imax. I was with it for about the first hour, especially seeing that first sand worm on the big Imax screen with the loud rumbling of the sound system slightly vibrating the seats, but then I found myself tuning out and just ready for it to be over. And they both could have benefitted from being trimmed, if I'm being honest. I think the second one is almost three hours! I think there's a third one coming too. I'll probably go see it because, hey, why the fuck not? YOLO

The Emperor's New Groove - Ha! Among the favorites of both my sister and me. This film's, "riiiiiiiiigggghhht" became a running joke in my family for years after. If you've never seen it, check it out. Super entertaining
Encanto - I loved and related to this one so much, I gave it its own write-up
Enter the Dragon - Bruce Lee's most popular film, it was cool. I enjoyed it. But it wasn't better than The Big Boss

Escape Plan - Stallone and the Governator finally link
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions
Awwww this is my shit. I remember watching the first one in bed with my gf at the time, who started off playing games on her phone but wound up putting it down and watching with me. After it was over I remember my exact reaction, "Ha! SEQUEL!! Nice! THAT was a good ass movie". She agreed. And the sequel was a good ass movie too. Now, as a fan, I feel entitled to offer some advice right here. We don't need another sequel. We don't need to Final Destination the shit outta this franchise (lol the fucking irony of a series using the word 'final' in its title with so many sequels). Y'all got two excellent entries. You're good. Move on
It was the second film of the series when, Van Damme playing the villain, told Stallone, "Do not challenge me". But he didn't say it like that. He said it more along the lines of, "Do not shallunge me". Y'all, I crack the fuck up out loud every time I hear him say it. Or think about him saying it lmao

(Ok y'all, bear with me on these)

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift
Fast Five (my favorite of the series)
So Fast Five was the start of the ensemble saga, which is where we are now in the series and where it will end. I saw Fast Five in the theater and was just blown away. It was like an Avengers movie for all of the Fast & Furious heroes to unite. Then after leaving the theater following my first viewing of Fast & Furious 6, I thought maybe it was time to end the series while still on a high note. Six really always felt like it was tryna keep up with five if I'm being honest. Then seven came along and it had all the drama with Paul Walker's death. So it of course drew me back to the theater to see it. By the time eight rolled around, I figured I was already too deeply invested in this series to not go watch it. And to my pleasant surprise it added a different dynamic. One of the reasons I thought they should quit was because they weren't offering anything new in six or seven. But I think Charlize Theron's Cipher is the second best villain of the series. The first is because I loved Fast Five so much I could connect with Jason Momoa's character in Fast X. I don't like how they wrote him in Fast Five as an afterthought for X tho. If Reyes had had an adult son in Fast Five, no way would we have not seen him, especially since they didn't even write him as coming in town after his father's death and doing some snooping to find out who did it, which would have made more sense to me. They portrayed him as being right by his father's side the whole time and that's bullshit. They didn't even have him in the same car as his dad, which is also bullshit. If they were as close as X claimed, why would they have not been in the same car? I still enjoyed X though even though a lot of people didn't for whatever reason. And that mid-credit scene cameo? I'm ready for 11 whenever the fuck it finally drops

The Family Man - This movie remains my favorite xmas film until something comes along and bumps it off. The only Nic Cage film I really like and own, and Tea Leoni is a wonder in this film. I also liked Cheadle's character, although he didn't have enough screen time for my liking

A Few Good Men - Straight Classic. And I love court room dramas anyway. This is one of the best

Fight Club - Excellent movie. I actually recently tried reading the book on Audible, for the same reason I'd read the autobiographies that spawned biopics I watched frequently. But I didn't finish. I've watched this movie too many times to count and found myself bored after a while since I knew what was going to happen

Finding Forrester - Damn Derek Luke and Rob Brown disappeared from the face of the earf

Finding Nemo - Pixar Classic

Fire Down Below - Ok, I have no explanation for this one either. I have absolutely no reason to even like this movie, yet I honestly love it. I genuinely don't know why. I say that for several movies, but I REALLY mean it in this case

Awww yeah. This whole series is my shit right here. I remember reading the synopsis for The Purge (1, The First Purge, as its title suggests, was a prequel released after Election Year and before The Forever Purge). I don't remember if I bought the film, or it was on a streaming service I had, but I couldn't click play fast enough on that shit. I loved the premise. I didn't like The Purge (1) all that much but I still enjoyed the premise. I didn't like that the whole thing took place in this one house, because I wanted to know what the other purgers were out there doing. It wasn't until Anarchy, when they made their characters mobile, that James DeMonaco really started to tap into the potential of the premise. And by Election Year, they had perfected purging. That's why Election Year is not only my favorite of the series, but also, it's one of my top 20 favorite movies of all-time. My order of the series is 3, 2, 4, 1, 0. But I watch all five every October

Four Brothers - An underrated jewel from John Singleton

The only one I really liked is the first one, although the pinky scene in the record store in the second one is one of my favorite scenes in the series and cinematic history. I wonder how many times Clifton Powell and Ice Cube had to restart that scene because one of them fucked it up by laughing. Didn't really need the series but it was on sale for $12 so I figured why the fuck not

The Fugitive is an entertaining classic that still holds up. U.S. Marshals, meh

Get On Up - An entertaining biopic that I didn't believe a word of. That's the only way I can enjoy them. Damn man, RIP Chadwick. It was like he knew he'd die young. This man played how many legends?

Get Out - Groundbreaking in its time, I'm not convinced this shit doesn't actually happen somewhere in the world

I enjoyed the original and as I was up to double digits in age at the time, I enjoyed the second one even more. And the second one had the added bonus of including one of my favorite Bobby Brown songs, On Our Own. Somewhere else on this site I explained that I hadn't even heard of Afterlife until I saw it on one of the streaming services I had, just before Frozen Empire came out. I was pleasantly surprised by Afterlife. It had a good story, was well written, and was actually funny. The trailer for Frozen Empire had me really ready for it, and Frozen is the second one I saw in the theater after Ghostbusters II. It wasn't as good as I hoped but I don't remember hating it either. And I have since watched the ladies 2016 version (the only version I previously hadn't seen), and just as I suspected, I loved it and don't understand why it caught all the drama. It wasn't perfect, no, but what the fuck movie is?

Glory - Definitely one of my top ten faves. We haven't seen Denzel and Morgan Freeman in a film together since. And RIP Andre Braugher

The Godfather - I did see this one though I haven't seen the other two. (despite owning them). The second one is supposed to be epic. I need to get on my shit

Godzilla Minus One - This movie had super high reviews. So I watched it on one of these streaming services I have and I can see why! I bought it for $10 after watching it on the streaming services because it was that good. Be advised you gotta read the film because the whole thing is subtitled in English

Gone With the Wind - It's been a while since I've seen this one, as it is about two weeks long. But I remember it surprised the shit out of me how much I enjoyed it when I saw it for the first time

Goodfellas - Definitely a top 5 fave of mine. I saw this flick for the first time in a film class at LA Valley College around 1999. That class was only about 75 minutes so we had to break the viewing up over two classes. But it had me hooked all the way through both days. I remember feeling really disappointed when class was over that first day and the professor had to stop the video. I couldn't wait for that class two days later to finish it, and it has been a favorite of mine ever since. A bonafide classic that never gets old to me

Gran Torino - I know I saw it, but I couldn't tell you anything about it. I know Clint Eastwood plays a crabby old man, but what else is new?

Gravity - Space is my shit. I don't ever ever wanna go to space, but I will watch all the movies, documentaries and pictures y'all can provide. And this is one of my favorites of the genre

Hancock - "cuz I been drinking bitch" Lmao

Harlem Nights - Nigga! Generations of legends of stand-up. Come on man

Hidden Figures - Great movie! And I think Taraji got snubbed at the Oscars for this role. How the fuck was she not even nominated? Still a great film though and it's based on a true story. Well, I like it anyway

Higher Learning - "What is high? What is higher? What is learn? What is learning?" Smh we thought that shit was so profound back then. That nigga wasn't saying shit. This is about the only acting (I don't consider his Craig in Friday to be acting) that Ice Cube did that I liked. Even Busta Rhymes no acting ass found his voice in this film

Hitch - Not a fan of rom com but this is one of my favorite movies. This is another one I can't explain but I own it. I absolutely love this movie

My god Samuel L has been in a lot of movies. These were entertaining. They were recommended to me by one of my roommates in rehab. I don't regret buying them. I had fun

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
Just like with Gran Torino, I've seen these but couldn't tell you much about em. I do remember that whistle. I only bought these because it was a holiday special 2024. All four minus the new one for $7.99 total. For $2 each they can sit on my digital shelf until I decide to break em out again, if I decide to break em out again

I.S.S. - Due to my love of all things space, I actually wanted to see this one in this theater but didn't get to it. I don't remember how much I bought it for, but it was definitely less than $10. I got around to watching it a couple of weeks ago and not bad. I think I'm going to give it its own write-up on this site, which will also force me to watch it again as I do before I write about a flick

Inception - Come on. You already know

Independence Day (first one with Will Smith)

Inglourious Basterds - Tarantino films are generally a pretty big hit or a pretty big miss with me. There's no in between. I had never seen it before buying it for $5. I saw my man Christoph Waltz not only was in it, but he won an Oscar for this role. I had never heard of Christoph before I watched Django that I surprisingly really liked, a role he also won an Oscar for btw. And I like Brad Pitt. So I sat down to watch it one day and, uh, no. I wasn't amused. I don't even understand why Christoph won the Oscar for this role. But I can say that I saw it and it only costs me $5 to discover that this one was a Tarantino miss for me

Inside Man - Oh this is an excellent, star-studded movie. If you haven't seen this one you should check this one out ASAPossible

Ip Man 2: Legend of the Grandmaster

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum
Fantastic action series and I've been saying since this the first one that this is one video game I'd love to play. Not a big deal, but one question I've always had is why is chapter 3 the only one with a subtitle?

Joker - I was surprised by how much I really enjoyed this film. I haven't brought myself to watch the second one yet because I'm prolonging my inevitable disappointment

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

The Karate Kid (Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith)

Knight and Day - This was another movie that wasn't well liked but I liked it very much. I don't think y'all like anything at this point. This movie was fun

Knives Out - I liked the sequel too but it's on Netflix. And unlike other streaming services, you can't buy Netflix shit in open marketplaces. You can only watch their stuff with a Netflix subscription, which blows if you ask me

The Last Dragon - Only because it was $5 and for the nostalgia. Y'all know this movie sucks ass

A League of Their Own - Great movie

Lean On Me - One of my top 10 all-time favorites. And if you plan on following any of my stand-up you definitely want to watch this movie if you haven't seen it in a while

The Lion King - The original, because at this point there has been a shit ton of sequels, prequels and reboots

I liked the first two but the last one was on some bullshit. Fortunately I got this whole trilogy for $10

The Marvels - I bought this one even though I don't have the first one because I thought this one flopping and the backlash it took was bullshit. I loved it from the first time I saw it in the theater. I just think our planet these days just really seems to continue to hate women. Twice now y'all have said that you'd rather have Trump as president over a woman (Hillary, then Kamila). And you see where that shit has gotten us each time

The first film is my second favorite all-time movie behind Inception. Reloaded and Revolutions were too insecure for my liking. It was like they knew their older brother's content was groundbreaking, so they decided to try to top him in every way they could. That's where I think the second and third film of this franchise failed terribly. I think with Resurrections it got back to telling a story. That's what the first one did so well. The effects were phenomenal, but it wasn't at the sacrifice of the story. The fourth one wasn't great but it at least got back to doing what it does best. This series will get its own write-up from me on this site at a later date

Maverick - I don't even think I wanted to see this movie at the time. But I was around 15 years old when it hit theaters, and as such, still had to do whatever the fuck my mother told me to do. She wanted to see it so we saw it. It became one of my favorites and once I'm done writing about Inception, I'm going to finish writing about Maverick

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning
Hey say what you will, but these movies are entertaining as fuck. The last one, Dead Reckoning, was the first one I ever saw in the theater. And I'm looking forward to the conclusion of that part as well as the conclusion of the series later this year

Mo' Better Blues - Probably my favorite Spike Lee written movie. I like Inside Man more, but he didn't write that one. He only directed

Money Train - Some of us remember that chemistry Woody and Wesley had. It started with Wildcats, then went to White Men Can't Jump, and concluded (as far as I know) with this entertaining flick also with Jennifer Lopez

Monster's Inc - My daughter was a big-time fan of this movie when she was younger and used to watch it on repeat

Mr and Mrs Smith - Surprisingly super entertaining flick. Brad and Angelina regret meeting each other now, but back then they had crazy chemistry

Mulan - One of my favorite Disney cartoons for one reason; Eddie Murphy

Nope - I liked Keke Palmer's character in this movie

Nothing to Lose - This is another one that wasn't well liked but I loved it

Actually, like the Cars series, this is another trilogy where the middle film was fucking terrible. And I've tried multiple times to like that one. It just lacks all of the magic of the first one. And Catherine Zeta-Jones character got on my nerves. The Ocean's crew are notoriously smart, but they made her unrealistically super psychic brilliant. When she was reviewing the home the guys stole from, this bitch was like, " it was shot from over there. At approximately 3:42 am. The shooter had a breakfast burrito about 12 minutes prior to taking the shot but had them hold hot sau-". How did this bitch know all that just from looking?!

Open Water - I recorded a podcast about this one and I will maintain it is the scariest movie I have ever seen

Oppenheimer

The Patriot - Outside of Maverick and the Lethal Weapon series, this is my next favorite Mel Gibson flick

Philadelphia - Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington in their primes? What more do you need?

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales

The Princess and the Frog - I won't even lie. This one was for me. My daughter fell asleep on this movie in the theater and wasn't much more interested in watching it when it hit home video. I enjoyed it though. "This is Tianna. The waitress"

The Program - One of my all-time favorite sports movies

The Raid: Redemption - This is the first of two films in the series, and I got the two film set for $10. I thought the premise sounded interesting. I found it entertaining although I wouldn't classify it as the best action film I've ever seen. I haven't gotten around to the second one yet but I will

Ray - One of the few biopics I tolerated because it was so entertaining

Remember the Titans - Another of my all-time favorite sports flicks

Renaissance Man - Another movie not a lot of people liked but I loved

Road to Perdition - As much of a film buff as I am, I don't normally notice when someone's directing stands out. Of course the acting is fantastic (come on, Tom Hanks, Paul Newman, Jude Law, Stanley Tucci, you know the acting was gone be on point). But the directing in this movie really stands out to me. Or maybe it's the Cinematography. Either way, this is a great film
Rocky IV - Yep, the one against Ivan Drago is the only Rocky I own

The first two are great and the third one should have been left on the storyboard floor. But this was another trilogy that only cost me $10

Set It Off - One of my top 10 all-time favorites

Seven Pounds - Rosario looked so good in this movie. I mean, she always looks good but she seemed to really glow in this one to me

I watched both of these on my HBO Max subscription back when it was still called HBO Max. I actually really enjoyed them. Then recently the two-film set was on sale for $10 so I pulled the trigger

I thought the Shrek movies were some of the most original films I'd ever seen in Hollywood. And again, two words; Eddie Murphy

Sisu - I wanted to check this one out in the theater but didn't get to it. It is so highly reviewed, and I make a point to try to watch all highly reviewed action flicks, as despite its flaws, is still my favorite genre of film. I enjoyed it. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. I liked it

Snowpiercer - This movie is always available for $5. I bought it for that amount and watched it years ago. It was cool, but it spawned a television series that was on TNT. I liked the TV show better than the movie. But then it disappeared completely from any streaming service, then you couldn't buy it in any stores. They brought it back and started producing new episodes. It ran for four seasons, 40 episodes total. First I cancelled the streaming service it was brought back on. Then maybe about two weeks ago I was perusing the online store I use, and saw the complete Snowpiercer series available and it was only $20. I couldn't buy that shit fast enough. Now I'll finally be able to finish it

Sorry to Bother You - This was $5 too and LaKeith Stansfield is one of my favorites. As is Tessa Thompson. Bro, this is a weird ass fucking movie

Speed - Action classic

Spider-Man

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse

Spider-Man: No Way Home - I gave this one its own write-up too

Straight Outta Compton - Another biopic that I took with a grain of salt. And when you do that you're still left with a very entertaining flick

The Super Mario Bros Movie - Great for the nostalgia. I saw it in the theater and found myself smiling throughout

Superfly Remake - Still haven't seen the original though I bought it for $5 when I bought the remake for the same amount

Tag - This was a surprisingly good $5 find

The Taking of Pelham 123 - I bought a bundle of 25 action movies for $25, where I only already owned three of the 25 movies. This was one of those films

Tangled - Another one my daughter watched on repeat

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem
I ain't gone lie, these are for me. I have always been a huge fan of the TMNT (Michaelangelo was always my favorite), and the first three are from my childhood. Sure, like some of the other films on this list that I love, they are far from perfect. But I love them. And I remember my stepsister's mom making me a white ninja turtles sweatsuit I wore to go see all of those movies. I didn't like them TMNT two-film collection where they looked like they were on steroids, but the other ones I definitely wanted to make sure I owned

The Terminal - Really really good movie

T2 is undeniably an absolute classic

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (original)
Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

A Time to Kill - "yes they deserved to die, and I hope they burn in hell"

Titanic - Brush up on this one too for my stand-up content

My daughter loved these movies, but truthfully so did I. I bought this DVD boxed set shaped like a toy box. It had all three blu-rays, all three standard dvd's, and and all three digital downloads. I never even finished watching the fourth one because I couldn't get into it. But I did enjoy Lightyear

Twisters - I want both of them but for some reason they weren't going on sale. Twisters was just $20 when I checked it the week before. But about a week ago it went on sale for $8 so I definitely snagged that shit. The first one was still $15 for some reason, but it'll probably be on sale soon

Tyler Perry's Daddy's Little Girls

Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?

The Way of Dragon (Bruce Lee)
What's Love Got To Do With It - The movie was cool, but a few years back I watched her Tina documentary on then HBO Max (I don't know if it's still on there but if it is you HAVE to watch it). That was one of the best doc's I've ever watched. May she RIP

White Men Can't Jump - Might be my all-time favorite sports movie

The Wizard - As a video game playing kid who played all of the games in this film, I really enjoyed this movie. And it came out when I was still a kid and playing those games. I haven't watched it since I was a kid though, but I remember absolutely loving this movie. I had to get it when it went on sale for $5. It'll probably be one of those movies that didn't hold up very well. So!!

The Wizard of Oz - I have seen this movie no less than 1.3 million times, but until December 2024 I had never seen Wicked, the play. I saw it at the Pantages theater and bought a ticket to see the movie the same day. I went to the movie theater after, and even though the theater was mostly empty, this really big lady came and sat right next to me! She was like, "that's my seat." Yeah ok, I understand, but the theater is not very crowded at all. You couldn't sit one extra seat down? All of a sudden it started to get hot because she blocked out my whole right side, and I had already rolled my eyes when I saw online it had a 2 hr and 45 min run time. I didn't really want to sit through that on the same day anyway, but since I'd already bought my ticket I'd figure I'd endure it until she took my oxygen away. I figured the movie would be on home video soon where I will be able to watch it in the peace and quiet of my own home. When I saw the play, it was clearly sold out, so there were a lot of MFs. I had filled my people quota for the day so I legit ended up just walking out of Wicked at the theater and going home. I bought it the week after the Oscar's when it went on sale for $13 and haven't watched it yet, but I will

The Wood - One of my top 10 - 20 films all-time. This story took place when I was growing up so I could relate to so much of it

Wreck-It Ralph - I thought this movie (and its sequel) were two of the most original, creative animated films I'd ever seen

XXX: State of the Union - This was another one of those movies I got for $1 in that 25 set for $25. I would have no reason to own this fucking movie otherwise

Entertaining as hell. I like Woody Harrelson. He usually takes on pretty good roles
