Coming Soon - 2025

began writing 12/28/2024

Daniel Craig

Earlier this year, I had an A-List Membership at AMC Theaters that I HIGHLY recommend for movie buffs, but for me it works best only seasonally. For $25/month, you can watch up to 12 movies per month (up to three per week) at any AMC theater, any format, with no restrictions. You can watch the same movie 12 times if you want. You can also watch 3D, Imax (ohhhh this one I used A LOT, especially at Universal where there is a true Imax screen, and when I had an annual pass so I never had to pay for parking or bother with validation), or any other format available

From about September 2023 - August 2024, I never missed shit in the theater. I would go see something on my every other Friday off, even if I wouldn't have seen it ordinarily. That's what the fuck my membership was for. It also came with a slew of benefits and frequent discounts on concessions, including a free large drink and popcorn in the month of your birthday. As a frequent movie goer I was also always up to speed on upcoming movies

But I figured out around the end of the summer after I'd seen everything in the theater I wanted to, and there were fewer upcoming movies that I wanted to see, that it would make sense to pause my membership until next year when blockbuster season arrives again. Plus, I was having to recover from the last few months of my wages being garnished, without my job offering the life saving overtime they offered for the two years prior. So I decided to not renew my Universal Studios annual pass and begin catching up on paying everybody I got behind on

I said all of that to say, when I was perusing Yahoo today and saw a link to an article outlining many of the movies coming out in 2025, I decided it would be a good idea for me to take a look since I'd been out of the loop. I'd seen Wicked at another theater since I didn't have to go to AMC for that one, but that only shows so many of the upcoming movies and they were all in the same kid-friendly category as Wicked. But what about movies not meant for kids?

I curiously clicked on the link, and to my surprise, I found a few things I was not aware of at all! By the time I got around half-way through 2025, I found myself scrolling down with excitement, not sure of the next surprise I'll see

So here's the article for your viewing pleasure, but I'll outline them all below and if I have any thoughts, YOU KNOW your boy gone write his mind

I'll also probably look for more that weren't on this list. I can think of one horror movie off top I mentioned somewhere on this site that wasn't on this particular list. I'm hoping for more surprises I didn't know about

Ok, enough mansplainin', storytellin', and lolly-gaggin' n shit! Fuck's coming out next year bro?!?!!

Captain America: Brave New World

I actually didn't know this was coming out so early in 2025. I thought it wasn't coming out until the second half of the year. I did watch and enjoy the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier, although I wouldn't consider it one of my favorites. In that regard, I guess I'm just not excited about this one. Being the big MCU fan I am, I'll go see it in the theater for sure. But I'm not expecting much from it

I'll always be a fan of Anthony Mackie from the first film I ever saw him in, as Eminem's nemesis Papa Doc in 8 Mile. And his Sam Wilson is the deliverer of one of my all-time favorite lines in the MCU's history. In Captain America: Civil War, after meeting with Secretary of State Ross and being briefed on their options, the Avengers have a meetup of their own. In that meeting is where the conflict that generated the film's title rears its ugly head. More specifically, Sam is arguing with Rhodes about signing the Accords. Vision interrupts announcing he has an equation. And Sam Wilson, with absolutely perfect sarcastic and comedic timing, throws his hands up and says "aww this'll clear it up" LMFAO! Every time I watch it I crack the fuck up at it because it was and will always be PERFECT!!!

I know historically movie fans haven't always kept up with the Marvel films and shows, but will sometimes jump on board when they find something that interests them. So if you plan on seeing this film I would highly recommend watching the Disney+ series first, to witness the process of Sam becoming the new cap

Sinners

Ahh yes, Michael B Jordan and Ryan Coogler, the modern day Denzel Washington and Spike Lee

First time I saw this trailer was on a commercial on one of these sporting events I was watching. So I watched it without sound, as I watch my sports. I assumed it was a slavery piece. But when I was pulling up the information to post here, one headline called it a "Supernatural Thriller". Then later, the same article calls it a horror flick. In other words, I was way the fuck off...wow. Not one I'm interested in paying to see in the theater. Ummm probably not to pay to watch it at home either, unless it's $5. But if it lands on one of these limited streaming services I got left, I'll check it out on that

Snow White (Live Action)

Snow White

Ok, this shit makes them dwarfs look creepy as fuck!! Like the kinda little people that be staring at you in your dreams at point blank range for no fucking reason at all. Great! Thanks Disney for fucking up my sleep tonight. Pass!

Minecraft

I didn't even know this was a thing. I've never played the game a day in my life, so I feel like my watching this would be a big fucking waste of everybody's time. Y'all go 'head and enjoy that shit tho

Michael

Ohhhhh this was one of the pleasant surprises I had not heard about. And MJ's real life nephew, Jaafar Jackson (Jermaine's son), will play his uncle. And it's directed by Antoine Fuqua, and will have MJ's music. Might go see this one two, three times

May 2025 (around the time I plan to resume my A-List Membership)

Thunderbolts

All of these characters were introduced/featured either in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, and/or Hawkeye. Except that Ant-Man/MoonKnight love child on the left. I don't recognize them off top. This one should be fun

Mission: Impossible 8

Believe it or not, I'm actually a big M:I fan. Say what you will about Tom Cruise and Mission: Impossible in general, but those movies are ALWAYS entertaining. You of course like some more than others as with anything, but I've never ended a viewing of any of the M:I movies (and I've seen them all) thinking that was a boring movie I just watched. I bought the whole set for I think $20. This was before Dead Reckoning hit theatres. I saw and enjoyed DR in the theater (on A-List thank you very much) and bought it for like $10 when it hit home streaming on sale. DR was technically a part 1 and ended on a cliffhanger. This will not only be part 2, but will apparently be the final film in the series. Definitely heading to the theater to see this one too, and will buy it when it hits home streaming on sale, completing my M:I collection

Karate Kid Legends

Biiiiiitch at the top of the list of surprises for me was this shit here!! I hadn't heard a single thing about this movie. This was big because all six of us who saw the Jaden Smith KK remake, remember his Mr Miyagi in that movie was Jackie Chan. This film is combining the past with the new(er), just as Cobra Kai has been so good at doing. Fuuuuck yeah!!! I can't wait

Can't go wrong with Disney or Disney/Pixar. A movie I decided to click play on for that reason really surprised me one day. It's called Turning Red and it's fantastic. I'm hoping lightning can strike twice with this one. I see no reason to rush to see it in the theater though

Confession time. I've seen precisely none of the movies in this franchise, and I'm actually okay with that. Copy my thoughts from the Minecraft movie above and paste here

Ballerina

Fuuuuck yeah! If the font of the film's title didn't tell you it's the same people who made John Wick (well that and it telling you right above the title), then how about the movie will feature Ian McShane's Winston, Keanu Reeve's Wick, and in his final completed film before his passing, Lance Reddick's Charon. John Wick 4 was the first movie of the series I ever saw in the theater and I saw it twice. Definitely gotta check this one out at least once in the theater. Can't wait! June 4

July 2025

This one was left of their list too, but since it's untitled they're forgiven. Also because it's untitled it's hard to find any information on it. But from this article:

Untitled Trey Parker/Matt Stone (creators, writers and stars of South Park) Film (July 4)

Little has been revealed about Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s upcoming comedy, their first feature film since 2004’s “Team America: World Police.” Still, here are two clues that it’s going to hit theaters like an incendiary device: First, the award-laden musician and provocateur Kendrick Lamar produces and stars as a Civil War-era reenactor who learns his white girlfriend’s ancestors once enslaved his own. Second, Paramount Chief Executive Brian Robbins has made a point of releasing it on July 4. “It’s certain to create some fireworks,” Robbins said to a room of movie-theater owners. With a script by the malevolently hilarious Vernon Chatman (“Wonder Showzen,” “Xavier: Renegade Angel,” “The Shivering Truth”), every creative involved is known for pushing boundaries over a cliff and then stomping on their remains. The last time the “South Park” creators teamed up with Lamar, they digitally transformed him into O.J. Simpson. —A.N.

Superman (2025)

Superman 2025

First I was on the fence about this one. On one hand, I've never counted Superman as one of my favorites. Haven't seen many of his films because, you may recall, he's not one of my faves. But I do like James Gunn and the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy. While still on the fence, I clicked play on the trailer. When I saw that there was a brotha superhero in this one in that damn bubble with his dog, ok, now I wanna see this shit on opening night

Fantastic Four

Mmmeh. The only one of the previous F4's I actually liked wasn't enough to make me give two shits about this one. I'll wait for it to hit Disney+

jurassic-world-rebirth-movie-poster

I've never seen any of the Jurassic World movies in the theater, although I saw all three Jurassic Park movies in the theater. That was a different time of my life I guess. But I have seen all three Jurassic World movies once they brought the dinosaurs into my home. I did enjoy them for what they were. And it would probably be really cool to see this one in Imax. And I like Mahersala Ali. Although, historically, black people in the Juras....smh, let's just say I bet not be late and miss the opening scene

TO BE CONCLUDED LATER IN THE YEAR

Update: 4/3/2025

Sooooo, I'm writing on another page on this site updating movies I've seen. I get to the Now You See Me films, which I am a big fan of

IIIIII did not know there was a third one on the way. Actually, it's currently in post-production already, and is expected 11/14/2025. There's virtually no information about it yet, but I'm already there!!!

Here's the link for it on IMDB
