I found this recipe online sometime during the pandemic. I didn't have an infuser when I found it, so I liked that there were only three ingredients, and that you could do it in one of the pots you probably already have. I did get an infuser that just stopped working one day, and I never got another one. The only thing I changed with this recipe is the cooking time, and that's due to when I did have the infuser. The original length in the recipe was four hours of cooking time, which I did do when I first started. But when I got the infuser, the preset option for infusing oil was only an hour. The written instructions, however, said two hours. So, I compromised. Now when I make it, instead of four hours I cook it for only 90 minutes. Trust me, it works just fine!

What you'll need:

An ounce of weed

Typically, weed you buy will come in one of two formats; pre-ground or ungrounded. There are always exceptions to every rule, but under normal circumstances, pre-ground weed is usually on some bullshit. It's usually less expensive, and usually equally cheap ass weed. I don't buy pre-ground weed unless it's all they have available of their Hybrid products (I don't fuck with Indica AT ALL and will only do Sativa if it's also all they have) and I really need something. I've only run into that situation maybe once in my entire edible usage

A Grinder

Dude, I really wish I had someone to break this shit down to me like I'm breaking it down for some of y'all. I've been making this recipe off and on for the last three years. And for the first maybe 2 1/2 years, I was grinding my shit by hand with one of those manual grinders like this

Y'all, as you can imagine, grinding an ounce would take fucking forever. Not just because of the act of doing it all by hand, but because the little crevices would get filled up quickly in it, making it so that you have to constantly clean it to get it to grind worth a damn. I honestly used to dread this process, as it would always take no less than an hour. It was a necessary evil, as grinding your weed is a very important step to optimizing all of the goodies the plant has to offer

But I thought there had to be a better way. Thankfully, I was right about that. The flip side of the manual grinder is the electric grinder. Mine looks almost identical to this one

​Oh this sexy motherfucker right here! A lot of times when you buy an ounce of weed, it won't just come in one 28g bag. Depending on the special and the inventory, you may get four 7g bags to make up your ounce. Or sometimes even in a 14g (half an ounce) bag. Most times I get four 7g bags and would have to grind each bag individually by hand. But this fine ass bitch above can hold 14g at a time. All you have to do is put the weed in, put the lid on, and when you put that small piece on the bottom right of the picture on top of the grinder and press down, that makes the machine start grinding. I have to press down for only about no more than five seconds and my shit is super ground! That means that the process went from more than an hour, to literally about 10 seconds. And the electric grinder is no more expensive than a really good manual grinder. Trust me, get a fucking electric grinder!!!!

Coconut Oil

In keeping with the theme so far, there are two options for this as well. Refined or Unrefined. I asked my doctor, and of course, the Unrefined is the healthier option because it's fucking $7 more. AND you get 2 oz less with the Refined version. Here's the brand I use

Great Value is Walmart's brand. The ​refined will run you about $13, with the unrefined costing about $20. ​I'll leave the choice to you and your doctor as to which one you use. I've only recently starting using the unrefined, and I will say it at least appears to be smoother on the tummy to me

Cheesecloth​

I'ma keep it all the way one hunny bun. I didn't know what the fuck this was before the recipe called for me to use it. One of my ex-girlfriends had a theory that no one at Walmart ever seemed to know where shit was. That was ABSOLUTELY the case with this one! I might as well had been speaking spanglish to that poor girl. But I didn't know what it was either, so we were both looking completely ridiculous. Until I decided fuck all that and went home and entered cheesecloth in the search field of Walmart in Instacart. Then I paid someone else to go get that shit for me. I wonder if my Instacart shopper got that same girl lol. Anyway, I still don't know where this shit is located in the store. I usually buy a big pack that last me several months. And whenever I do need some more, I ALWAYS get it delivered to me. When your infused coconut oil is done, you'll see the seeds and shit of the weed floating on top. Yeah, you do not want to eat that shit. So you put the cheesecloth over the jar or (in my case) the glass measuring cup you store your oil in, and pour the oil from the pot into the jar. The cloth will get all that shit you don't want in your oil out, filtering only the coconut oil for its proper smooth texture
